Why Become a Member of The Society?

Founded in 1798, the Society is the oldest group celebrating Scottish ancestry and heritage in Canada.

We gather to celebrate that ancestry and heritage several times a year:

  1. Robbie Burns Day Dinner Celebration: on or around January 28th

  2. Saint Andrew’s Day Celebration: on or around November 28th

  3. Quarterly Members’ Meetings: the first Thursday of February, May, August and November

  4. Society Executive Meetings: as called by the President

  5. The New Brunswick Highland Games: normally the last weekend in July

  6. Tartan Day: on April 6th outside Saint John City Hall

There are a number of interesting ways to contribute to The Society by volunteering on its Board of Directors, Committees and events working groups.  See the list of possible opportunities and contact any Society member.
